The Seller's Handbook

When listing your home, you want to be sure every space is available and clean. Here's a great section of tips & to-do's from one of our own Louisiana licensed agents. Get your home show ready!!

(You never know when someone will stop by!)

An Inviting Exterior.

Curb appeal is crucial. Be sure to keep your lawn neat & tidy.  You might want to consider updating your landscaping and adding some color.

Clean the  exterior of the home; pressure wash the siding and clean out the gutters.

Inspect the exterior for damage. Complete any exterior repairs that detract from the appeal. i.e. cracked foundation, crooked gutters, uneven pathways, loose siding, missing shingles.

Refresh your front door with a new coat of paint! A wreath and new mat would help make it look more inviting too.

Replace faded civic numbers on your home so it's easy to find your property when buyers visit.

A Welcoming Interior

Simplify & Depersonalize

Stick to tasteful, neutral décor choices and store personal items. Also, adding fresh paint will help as well, working with neutral tones there too, to appeal to a wide range of buyers.

It should sparkle!

Maintain cleanliness of all spaces, from top to bottom, throughout the selling period. Neutralize any bad orders as well. Consider hiring professional cleaners or renting a carpet cleaner.

Inspect the interior for damage and complete repairs.

Cracks, water damage, leaks, holes, damaged windows, peeling wallpaper and stains should all be taken care of before buyers have access to view your home.

Clean, organize and declutter every room.

Your space will appear bigger and it will help prospective buyers envision their belongings in the home.
